Isu dan Polisi Semasa:

"Small-scale Stock Breeders all over Peninsular Malaysia request the Prime Minister cum National Security Council’s (NSC) chairman’s intervention to protect the farmers and stockbreeders from eviction threats. Although they produce a vast amount of dairy products and meat for Malaysians, many stockbreeders and farmers are forcefully evicted. Thousands of small-scale stockbreeders are currently threatened with forced eviction by Sime Darby. These lands were once a grazing area for the stockbreeders over the last 50 years." s

Nilai-nilai & Kepercayaan

"Malaysians’ food guarantee might be affected due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Almost 30% of the food consumed by Malaysians are imported from various countries. In 2018, the total amount of imported food stood at RM 53 Billion. Microscopic dissection informs us that imported vegetables amount to RM 4.6 Billion, while dairy products and meat amounted to RM 7.7 billion. The Covid-19 pandemic could most likely posit a risk of disrupting the food supply chain. Therefore, considering the adversity, we must strengthen our internal food supply (food security) for Malaysians. Parallel, ensuring local food production will help the local farmers, fishing community, and stockbreeders increase their mass food production."

Penyelesaian:

"1. The State Governments should collect all the data regarding the government lands currently cultivated by the stockbreeders and stockbreeders threatened by companies with ownership granted in the last 15 years. 2. Formulate a policy that enables the farmers and stockbreeders to continue producing food. Matters, as follows, should be presented and decided in the National Land Council Meeting (as accorded by Article 91 Federal Constitution). 3. Must halt Incidences of evicting the stockbreeders for land development with the issuance of the moratorium. 4. The Government is requested to investigate and provide financial assistance or subsidies to ensure small-scale stock breeders can continue to cater to the food supply-demand. 5. Finalise a solution between cattle breeders and Sime Darby, who constantly attempt to evict these stockbreeders from Sime Darby-owned lands all over Malaysia. The estate is proven for its immense contribution to the production of dairy and meat in Malaysia. Operating as a grazing area for the last 50 years, the activities of the farmers and stockbreeders did not, in any circumstances, jeopardise the profiteering opportunities. 6. In a situation that requires the land to be taken over for the immediate/urgent needs of the nation, an alternative land must be compensated in another appropriate location with a justifiable reason and time.
