Majlis Mesyuarat Kerajaan Negeri yang dipengerusi oleh Menteri Besar atau Ketua Menteri Negeri mempunyai pengaruh yang tidak dicabar dan membuat keputusan muktamad mengenai penyahwartaan mana-mana hutan simpan. Terdapat kekurangan ketelusan di dalam proses berkenaan. Walaupun kerajaan negeri Selangor telah melaksanakan langkah tambahan yang melibatkan rundingan awam dalam proses tersebut, penyahwartaan Hutan Simpan Kuala Langat Utara telah menunjukkan kelemahannya. Hutan simpan bukanlah hanya sekadar bilangan peratusan dan amalan mewartakan sebidang tanah bagi \u2018menggantikan\u2019 kehilangan hutan yang dinyahwartakan, atau untuk \u2018memelihara\u2019 kadar liputan hutan merupakan satu penipuan. Malangnya, kesemua hal tersebut bertindak sebagai langkah mitigasi bagi membenarkan penyahwartaan hutan simpan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nilai-nilai &amp; Kepercayaan<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perlu adanya akauntabiliti dan ketelusan sepanjang proses penyahwartaan bagi sesuatu Hutan Simpan. Sesuatu keputusan penting dengan kesan jangka panjang, seharusnya tidak ditinggalkan kepada beberapa pihak dan dilakukan semudah itu sahaja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Penyelesaian:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Majlis Mesyuarat Kerajaan Negeri haruslah menjustifikasi, menerangkan dan mempertahankan keputusan di dalam dewan undangan negeri apabila ia berkaitan dengan penyahwartaan Hutan Simpan. Ia seharusnya dijadikan satu rang undang-undang untuk dibahaskan, diundi dan diluluskan, di samping itu perlunya sokongan majoriti daripada orang awam semasa sesi rundingan awam dan tinjauan. Majlis Mesyuarat Kerajaan Negeri seharusnya tidak mempunyai budi bicara yang bebas dalam membuat keputusan.
