3F-16 Limited access to education for stateless persons

Problem Statement and Current Policy:

Many of stateless children cannot access public education if the stateless child’s Birth cert does not a Malaysian parent name and if they carry they are made to pay levy fee to access education.

Value(s) and Belief:

Every child should have equal opportunity to education

Proposal of Solution and Call for Action:

All children in Malaysia should be treated equally regardless of the current state or situation whether abandoned, adopted or parents information not on birth certificate. Whereby their access to education should not be hindered by the birth certificate status and made free for all- waive the levy fees imposed.
